Spam is the bane of the Internet. There is nothing new about that fact. If a blog or forum software isn't secured with a multitude of anti-spam features, the website will drown spam comments in a matter of days.
We often get asked how our appointment software deals with fake appointments and the like and if we are going to add features like Captcha. Strangely enough, to this date none of our customers actually had any problems with spam bots or competitors with malicious intentions. We have never heard of spam registrations or a flood of fake appointments. One should think that during the last 12 years there must have some occasions, but there weren't. We have added anti spam features to practically all of our other software products, but it was never necessary with Schedule Organizer.
One should also keep in mind that Captcha can only be the last resort against spam. It's not very user friendly and may result in users aborting their attempt to schedule an appointment. That either increases the workload for the staff because now the customer will call in order to schedule their appointment or they will go somewhere else. While the first option is only mildly annoying, the second option could lead to lost revenue.
Unless there is a flood of spammy registrations, one should just accept and delete the occasional fake registration. Having said that, should our customers encounter any problems, we will of course look into those problems and will solve them.
